An original 1885 oil painting on canvas featuring two women walking and a seascape. It is signed "Jozef Israels" in the lower right hand corner, however the plaque on the front reads "School of Jozef Israels. Circa 1885." There are Christie's auction stickers on the back that attribute the piece to "Josef Israels" and give the title "Waiting for the Fishing B(oats)."
The canvas measures approximately 22" x 18". The frame measures approximately 31" x 28".

Jozef Israëls 27 January 1824 – 12 August 1911) was a Dutch painter. He was a leading member of the group of landscape painters referred to as the Hague School and was, during his lifetime, "the most respected Dutch artist of the second half of the nineteenth century."
